Over the past four decades we have developed long-standing relationships with all the big banks, local credit unions, accounting firms, law offices, insurance companies, mortgage brokers, and hundreds of additional businesses and individuals.
Ken Friesen entered the fee service appraisal industry more than thirty years ago after a successful career from the Province of Manitoba Provincial Assessment Branch. In 2003 Keystone Valuations was incorporated and began to resemble what it is today. Bobby Penner joined Keystone as a candidate in 2012. Today Keystone Valuations has evolved into Keystone Appraisals – a one-stop full-service appraisal firm where we will do everything we can to provide you with an excellent appraisal report with accurate values in a timely fashion for a fair price.
Ken was the original founder of Keystone, and prior to this he worked at Manitoba Assessment. Between his time with Manitoba Assessment and Keystone Appraisals, Ken literally has a lifetime of experience in the appraisal industry.
Ken has achieved the AACI, P. App designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada. In addition to his continuing appraisal work, Ken is mentoring Bobby, Steve, and Michelle through the designation process.
Ken loves to curl and golf, and is a passionate Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bomber fan. In his time away from the office, Ken loves to travel the world with his wife, Eleanor. Ken has a son, daughter, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.
Bobby has been with Keystone Appraisers since 2012. Before joining Keystone, he spent a number of years in the commercial/ag lending industry as both an analyst and later an account manager. Bobby obtained an Ag-Bus degree from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Manitoba. Bobby achieved accredited appraiser holding an AACI, P.App designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
Bobby has spent the past four years working under the mentorship of appraiser legend, Ken Friesen. Bobby works primarily in the commercial and agricultural markets throughout Manitoba; however, he has experience working in Saskatchewan and northwestern Ontario as well.
Bobby lives on a small acreage just west of Winnipeg with his wife, Chantel and his young son.
Michelle has worked with Keystone Valuations (Appraisals) since 2004. Being originally from Ireland Michelle’s education background was in film production which she studied in Dublin. She moved to Winnipeg to work in the film industry and joined Keystone initially on a part time basis mostly working during slow filming seasons. Michelle grew to love the work and the relationships with our clients and soon made the move to full time appraisal work.
She is currently a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada completing her final course for CRA accreditation and will also continue to pursue the AACI accreditation.
Michelle is married with two young children and enjoys family time, travelling, entertaining and hobbies such as filmmaking, knitting and working out.
Paul has been with Keystone Appraisal since May of 2017. Prior to joining Keystone, Paul has accumulated 15+ years of experience in the customer service world, working for a financial institution and a start-up financial service business. He has also spent a couple of years as a manager at a local golf course in southeast Manitoba.
Paul currently resides in the city of Steinbach with his wife Chelsea and spends a lot of his free time golfing and coaching volleyball.
Paul is an AIC Candidate member with a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Providence University College. He is working towards completing his CRA designation under the mentorship of Bobby Penner. Paul focuses on the residential market, handling residential appraisals from the city streets to rural backroads.
